DISCIPLINARY POLICIES - NO-BULLYING ZONE
The Christopher Avenue Community School (CACS) is a strict no-bullying zone. The following behaviors are considered forms of bullying:
- Verbal Abuse: Including cell phone/text bullying, cyberbullying, and threats.
- Physical Abuse: Including pushing, hitting, and the use of objects (e.g., chairs, basketballs, books).
- Emotional Abuse: Including teasing, name-calling, gossiping, mean words, lies, and rumors.
- Negative Interactions on School Premises: This includes inappropriate interactions between adults and children on school grounds, such as behaviors from parents/guardians of other children, teenage siblings or relatives, or any other persons within the school's vicinity.
If any bullying occurs, speak to the parent coordinator to set up a meeting with the principal and guidance counselor as per DOE and Chancellor Regulations.
Consequences: Both students and adults involved in bullying will face consequences as defined by the Chancellor’s Regulations and school policy.
