Dear Parents and Families,
Welcome to a wonderful new school year! I am thrilled to be your new Parent Coordinator. My name is Ms. Renee Bullard. I have worked in the DOE for over 10 years; working with elementary, middle, and high schools. I am proud to be a part of the pack here at K401!
As your Parent Coordinator, it is my primary role to help curate and develop cooperative working relationships between you and the school community. In partnership with our administration, I will help facilitate supportive networks and host workshops that meet your needs.
We are growing more culturally diverse, and the school population as a whole is growing in numbers. This gives us an opportunity to boost school morale. I am eager to assist in ensuring your voice is heard and that policies and procedures are present for the security of our students, teachers, and staff.
Additionally, I would love for you to join the voice of our school community by joining the Parent Teacher Association (PTA), School Leadership Team (SLT), Community Education Council (CEC), and our Parent Volunteer Program. By joining, you will be ensuring the school’s vision and mission are kept and shared between you and the entire school community here at K401. Our students benefit from parental involvement, and your service contributions to the school’s programs and operations are imperative to our scholars’ growth and development.
Student attendance is high on my priority list, right behind aiding your needs; students thrive in their education when they are present for school daily. You will receive a monthly school calendar. Please make sure you sign up for your New York City Schools account (NYCSA), as well as Class Dojo. Do not forget to follow and hit the like button on our social media platforms!
